So here’s my theory: After the defeat of there master, the other Di Angelos managed to slip between dimensions and wind up in Bayonetta’s world. In fact, a Di Angelo DID come back in Devil May Cry 5 (which I will speak no further of because spoilers).
#Bayonetta angels plus
Plus we never know what happens to the Di Angelos after The Creator got sucker punched to death by Nero, so the door is wide open for them coming back. But, if time travel is possible in Bayonetta, then perhaps dimensional travel is too. Now I know that there are a few of you who might find counter arguments to this, the biggest being that Bayonetta and Devil May Cry are in two separate universes and have nothing in common. There leader is the “Creator”, a large statue like avatar that has the potential to destroy the universe. Both have a Renaissance Era, marble and gold style to them. They can change into a human disguise (the Joy enemies display this ability). Despite being angelic “looking”, they’re actually quite disgusting. There “skin” breaks off when heavily damaged, similarly to the Di Angelo enemies in DMC 4. After I had this thought I soon started seeing a lot of other similarities between the Angels of Bayonetta and the Di Angelos.

They’re humans infused with demonic powers in a vain attempt to become like the angels of heaven, hence the name Di Angelos. To TL DR it for the sake of time, Di Angelos are the main antagonists of Devil May Cry 4. The Angels in Bayonetta are NOT angels at all, they’re De Angelos! Was there something more to this? They aren’t even from Heaven they’re from Paradiso, what kind of place is that!?! Anyway, I was on the second major boss, the dude at the air base, and as I was fighting him I was getting STRONG flashbacks to the Creator boss fight from DMC 4, one of my favorite bosses in that game.Īnd then, as if Bayonetta smacked her butt cheeks to my head, it hit me. However, even though I didn’t mind the fact I was playing as a witch killing angels, I had all the right to think something was. In fact, I beat Bayonetta a while ago and quite enjoyed my time with it (I’m now attempting to get platinum in all levels please send help!). I’m a Christian, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a good hack-n-slash like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta.
